Even in time of financial crisis, Europe must boost developing world aid to the Millennium Goal of 0.7 percent of gross national income by 2015. It´s in Europe´s interest, says EPP Group development spokesman and Irish MEP Gay Mitchell, as the funding is aimed at fighting poverty and child mortality, but also at preventing mass migration from south to north as the global population increases
