Juncker sees difficult 2013, backs more flexible European Stability Mechanism

Outgoing Euro Group chief Jean-Claude Juncker made his last appearance before the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary affairs Committee, predicting a tough 2013 ahead. Committee member Jean-Paul Gauzes, a fellow member of the EPP family, agreed courageous measures will need to be taken. Mr. Juncker also urged the European Stability Mechanism to be able to retroactively recapitalise troubled banks, an issue of debate among policymakers. Available material includes an edited package.
