EU Asylum Legislation to Create More Effective Process
The European Parliament approves legislation to create a more effective, Europe-wide system of asylum processing to ensure speedier, fairer process. The measures are also aimed at preventing so-called "hopping and shopping" by asylum seekers in Europe, and at fighting terrorism and organised crime, says EPP Group immigration spokesman and MEP Manfred Weber.
