EPP Group Chairman Joseph Daul Questions the Intentions of the Commission on Greece

Joseph Daul has outlined his Group's priorities within today's debates, in the European parliament, on the preparation of the next European Council meeting. He also regrets the statement by Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, who said that "there would be absolutely no man overboard if Greece left the Euro" and asks President Barroso for clarification on the European Commission's position: "We need measures to restore confidence in the governance of the Euro, and this can't come with contradictory statements." His speech was followed by the response of commissionaire Maros Sefcovic, who announces a final decision on Greece in the Eurogroup next Monday. Available material includes the full speech of Joseph Daul in French with shotlist in French and the speech of Maros Sefcovic in English.
