A Positive Ruling for Football Fans by the European Court of Justice

A positive ruling for football fans by the European Court of Justice
Watching top-flight football across the European Union is set to become both easier and cheaper thanks to a ruling by the European Court of Justice. The court ruled that fans can buy a satellite decoder card from a country other than their own to watch games involving club in their own country. It effectively means that broadcasters can't restrict their coverage on a member state-by-member state basis and it confirms the existence of a single market for broadcasting within the EU. Available material includes soundbites of Andreas Schwab, EPP Group spokesman on consumer issues and the European Court of Justice press release.
